 Charisse Witherspoon President/CEO |
Charisse Witherspoon is president and chief executive officer of Witherspoon Marketing Group, Inc, a marketing and management consulting firm established in 1993. In 2004, Witherspoon was unanimously elected president of the Publicity Club of Chicago (PCC), the nation’s largest organization of independent public relations practitioners. She became the first African American elevated to that position in the organization’s 63-year history. Prior to founding her firm, Witherspoon directed public relations for the Chicago Defender newspaper and WBEZ Radio. While operating her firm, she also hosted a public service radio program covering business issues for more than a decade. That media experience, in addition to radio and television production work in Illinois and New York and a degree in journalism, laid the foundation for the effective, strategic communications campaigns that are a hallmark of her firm.
